Omar Ali is a globally respected expert in health technology assessment (HTA), payer strategy, and innovative pharmaceutical contracting. As a former adviser to NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), he has worked at the intersection of government policy, healthcare economics, and market access.

Omar holds a PhD focused on innovative contracting for new medicines, with particular emphasis on value-based and outcomes-based reimbursement models. His academic and professional insights are further enriched through his role as a visiting lecturer at leading institutions, including:

  • University of Lisbon

  • University of Portsmouth

  • University College London (UCL)

  • Barcelona Business School

He has also served as a keynote speaker for AMCP (USA), engaging payer and pharmaceutical audiences on sustainable access to innovation.

Currently, as Head of Payers at Verpora, Omar leads a team of current and former payer professionals, advising life sciences organizations on navigating complex reimbursement landscapes.
